Industrial
Decontamination

High
pressure water jetting remains an effective means of removing foreign
and unwanted materials from a wide range of industrial applications.
Water jetting at pressures of 10,000 to 40,000 psi can provide rapid
and thorough results. Effluent control and filtration can be combined
to provide a total solution even for hazardous material removal (ie.
lead, asbestos, etc.) from steel or concrete.
Hennigan Engineering Co., Inc. has addressed these concerns in
an effort to provide superior cleaning alternatives without the
use of chemicals and abrasive cleaning agents. We have enhanced
the efficiency of manually operated surface decontamination techniques
and developed remotely- operated decontamination systems for
work in hazardous environments and confined spaces.
The unique challenges which we have encountered have led to innovative
solutions. Our specialized equipment has been used for a wide variety
of applications, including the removal of asbestos coatings from steel
and concrete, oil and asphalt spills from roadways and drainage systems,
hazardous product residual from tanks, piping, reactor vessels, and
high level radiological contamination from critical nuclear power
plant components.
Custom designed N2 gas regulated pressure control systems are used
on all of our equipment to provide a fully positive shut-off water
delivery system which can cut in half the volume of effluent water
generated during the decontamination process. Water recovery options,
including submicron level filtration and oil/water separators, can
be utilized to remove lead, asbestos fibers, oil, grease, and other
hazardous substances from the effluent stream, often meeting state
regulations for disposal into municipal waste water treatment systems.
Our equipment and techniques can be contracted direct, or used to
compliment the efforts of environmental service organizations, addressing
scheduled facility outages as well as emergency response.
